I've been working with glass since 1999 and
for me the most exciting aspect is combining positive intention
with
light. Glass is such a dynamic medium and I believe there is
a vast unexplored language in how light reflects through various
shades and into the eye; directly. I typically employ etching
as a design tool along with fused glass to create an organic
and
living presence within my work.
Recently I've been creating mandala's, combing Hopi and Tibetan
culture with the intention of purifying the viewer as they make
there way towards center. The Tibetan belief of allowing mandalas
to burn off what doesn't serve your highest self is a key component
of how I've been approaching most of these pieces.
